Minnesota Masonic Charities Matching Funds Scholarship Program
The Minnesota Masonic Charities Matching Funds Scholarship program helps create positive community awareness of Minnesota Masonry and of the local Masonic Lodge or Order of the Eastern Star Chapter while providing worthy students with much needed financial assistance.
Minnesota Masonic Charities offers participation in the Matching Funds Scholarship program to all Minnesota Masonic Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star Chapters on a first come-first served basis. Many local community Lodges or Chapters administer their own scholarship programs. They then apply to MMC for matching funds for the scholarships they award in their community. If you would like to contact the local Lodge Secretary in your community to see if they offer scholarships and participate in the Matching Funds program,
find a lodge using the Grand Lodge of Minnesota’s Lodge locator.
Minnesota Masonic Charities matches the local Lodge or Chapter scholarships, up to the maximum matching award per Lodge or Chapter of $2,000. Every year over 115 Minnesota Masonic Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star Chapters participate in awarding to approximately 450 students over $300,000 through the Matching Funds Scholarship program. Over the past several years, the Matching Funds Scholarship program has been continuously expanded. Since 1992, over $3,000,000 has been awarded through the Matching Funds Scholarship program!
Beginning in fall 2011 the Minnesota Masonic Charities Matching Funds Scholarship program will be administered through Minnesota Masonic Charities (not through the Grand Lodge of Minnesota). Application information and deadline requirements for the 2012 Matching Funds Scholarship program will be provided directly to all Minnesota Masonic Lodges and Order of the Eastern Star Chapters in early 2012.
