Robert L. Darling

Past Grand Master Tom McCarthy made the appointment of W. Brother Bob Darling as Junior Grand Steward. Should tradition prevail, W. Brother Darling would become Grand Master in 2016.
Robert Lee Darling “Bob” has been a Master Mason for almost 24 years. He was initiated on November 23, 1987; Passed to a Fellowcraft on December 12, 1987; and was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason on January 9, 1988 by Maroa Lodge No. 454, in Maroa, Illinois. He was raised by his father-In-law, W. Brother Larry Austin, who was the Master of Maroa Lodge No. 454 at that time. He was appointed to the offices of Junior Steward and Junior Deacon while at Maroa Lodge No. 454.
August 1, 1990 the Darling family; Bob, Kathy, and their son Matthew were relocated to St. Cloud, Minnesota. Bob was working for Schrock Cabinet Company, a Division of Electrolux Corporation in Arthur, Illinois and was transferred to Electrolux Freezers in St. Cloud.
Bob immediately became involved with North Star Lodge No. 23 where he became a dual member. In January1996 Bob was installed as W. Master of North Star Lodge No. 23. Bob along with his wife, Kathy also became active with the St. Cloud Chapter of DeMolay and St. Cloud Job’s Daughters, Bethel Chapter No. 11.
In 1998, M. W. Brother Charles Luman appointed Bob as a Grand Lodge District Representative and he served in this position until 2001. M W. Brother Roger Taylor appointed Bob as the Grand Pursuivant in 2001 and in 2002 Bob was appointed as the Senior Grand Steward. In 2003, Bob stepped away from being actively involved with the Grand Lodge due to his father’s health and the demands of a new position with his work duties.
In 2004, Bob was able to become more active with Grand Lodge activities and was again appointed as a District Representative. He has been serving as a Grand Lodge District Representative since that time.

Bob and his wife Kathy live in Becker, Minnesota and have been married for nearly 32 years. Their son Matthew, his wife Annie, and their daughter Brynn Kelly live in Sartell, Minnesota. Besides spoiling the the grandchildren, and his love for the craft, Bob enjoys hunting, fishing, and woodworking.
